Decorated with lanterns and colourful lights, Trafalgar Square has once again held the capital’s annual Chinese New Year Grand Celebration on February 18th. Thousands of people from all over the world gathered together to experience the traditional parades, lion and dragon dances, martial arts, dances, music performances, Chinese food stalls and many family-friendly activities. Chinese ambassador to the United Kingdom, Liu Xiaoming and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan delivered their messages of congratulations on this event and extended the New Year wishes to all the Chinese people living in the UK.
This year’s event, which was organised by the London Chinatown Chinese Association, has also received substantial support from numerous well-known institutions including the Greater London Authority, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and China Taiping. Geng Jinhai, CEO of China Taiping Insurance (UK) Co Ltd. and members of staff attended the event, where they promoted the China Taiping Brand and its products to the residents and tourists from all over the world.
