On June 3, the London Regatta Centre along the Thames River held the annual London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival.
This year’s event was once again an exceptionally grand occasion with a total of 32 teams from many local communities, businesses, organisations and amateur dragon boat teams participated in the competition. After its debut last year, China Taiping Insurance (UK) Co Ltd. has put together another team competing this year and eventually pushed into the Top 8 after several rounds of competitions.
China Taiping Insurance UK Co Ltd. used this event as a window of opportunities for interacting and communicating with the public, at the same time, took advantage of the zero-distance contact platform to raise the company’s profile and promote company’s products.
The festival has been organised by London Chinatown Lions Club and supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office since 2007. It has become a Western-Eastern cultural trademark festival in London attracting hundreds of people every year. Apart from Dragon Boat racing, Asian food festival represented the culinary tastes of each country in the region, allowing thousands of local people and tourists to try Asian signature dishes. The festival featured many fun activities and cultural performance, including live music and martial arts displays and traditional Chinese lion dancing. Local businesses and organisations also took this opportunity setting up the booth and promoting their companies.
On June 17, Chinese Dragon Boat Festival held at Huron Basin, Salford Quays, Manchester. China Taiping Insurance (UK) Co Ltd. Manchester Office participated in the race and achieved good results. This annual Chinese Dragon Boat Festival in Manchester has been a local sport & cultural landmark event for many years.
