On September 29th, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement between China Taiping Insurance Group and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) took place in Beijing. Luo Xi, the new Board Chairman of China Taiping Insurance Group attended the ceremony and met with ICBC Chairman, Yi Huiman. During the talks, the two sides unanimously expressed the need to further enhance the cooperative relations and jointly open a new chapter of comprehensive strategic alliance cooperation.
Luo Xi said that ICBC, as a large state-owned bank under the central administration, and China Taiping as the only financial and insurance central enterprise headquartered outside China, the two parties have the countless potential for a strategic alliance. He hopes that China Taiping and ICBC will conduct close cooperation in the areas of high-net-worth customer resources and tailored insurance services. China Taiping will greatly benefit from ICBC’s capital advantages to further develop insurance industry resources, at the same time, combining the strengths, sharing overseas networks, and jointly exploring international markets.
Yi Huiman fully affirmed and agreed with Chairman Luo Xi’s suggestion of alliance cooperation. He hopes that the two partners will jointly improve their comprehensive service capabilities and further strengthen strategic cooperation in investment banking, asset management, capital operation, market value management and capital replenishment.
China Taiping General Manager Wang Sidong, ICBC President Gu Shu, and several department heads and subsidiaries of China Taiping and ICBC attended the ceremony. Deputy General Manager of China Taiping Group Hong Bo and Senior Executive Vice President of ICBC Tan Jiong, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties.
