On 8 January 2020, the Association of Chinese Insurance Professionals in the UK (ACIPUK) held its first event of the year at the DAC Beachcroft LLP headquarters in London.
The event was attended by more than 70 people, including the head of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Economic and Trade Office, the former Mayor of the City of London, the former Chairman of the CII, the relevant departments of the British Government, the British-Chinese Insurance Agency, Lloyds and the British Insurance Corporation, the heads and representatives of various Chinese professional associations and members of the ACIPUK.
Chairman of ACIPUK Mr Jimmy Yan delivered an opening speech and congratulated all members of the association with Chinese New Year. Keynote speeches were made by the Honorary President of the association Mr Xiaodong Yu and partners of the hosting law firm DAC Beachcroft LLP on national strategy and insurance market development, "Made in China 2025" and product liability insurance.
Since its establishment three years ago, the association has held increasingly more events and activities that have not only promoted the exchange of knowledge and skills amongst its members, but also promoted cross-industry contacts and friendships, while constantly bringing practical business opportunities to partners. The Association has also made important achievements in enhancing cross-border exchanges between China and the UK over the past years and has established partnerships with Chinese associations.
